Welcome to the Exciting World of Dead People!

Yeah I said it. Nick has a new job. Starting May 14th Nick will be working at a funeral home (McDonald's Chapel downtown). That's not the crazy part... we're pretty excited about it. We get two types of reactions from people when we tell them the news... the first one is "Oh, really? Why? Isn't that creepy?" the second being "Oh how cool! I can see Nick doing that"( I don't know exactly how to take that one, but okay!)We see it as an amazing opportunity to minister to those in a much needed time. It never entered my head that this would be a scary job or majorly depressing job, although I know there will be those days.
Nick mentioned the other day that I probably won't be able to take Zech by his work place to visit, like we do at Safeway. No climbing on caskets for Zech. (Was that wrong?) You have to have some humor going into it. The lady who hired Nick said that if he needed to take a day off for personal or ministry sake he could because the person is still going to be dead tomorrow.
I think it's going to work out.

Hey, never underestimate the barrel of fun that dead people can be... ever seen the sixth sense??

I don't think the casket joke was wrong but then again I've always had very little respect for the diseased (was *that* wrong?) no really, I don't understand the big deal because they are dead and can no longer feel. The thing to respect would be the people feeling their absence. Whoa, getting deep here.
Anyway, so is this job going to take the place of bagging groceries at safeway?

*also, its pretty awesome that he's getting a job that doesn't necessarily fall under the heading of "ministry" but still creates great opportunity for that. yeah, its good!

At this rate, you'll have a solid twelve posts in a year's time. Way to be consistent! :)
